In 2024, nearly 48% of survivors working with support organizations experienced homelessness or lived in temporary shelters. These statistics highlight the urgent need for safe, stable, and affordable housing solutions tailored specifically for survivors.

About 28 percent of adults aged 65 and older, which is about 16 million people, live alone. Among them, about one in five are considered to be in poverty, compared to just six percent of those who live with others. Additionally, about 34 percent of households headed by someone 65 or older are cost-burdened, meaning they spend more than 30 percent of their income on housing.
